Privacy Policy

The short version: your compensation data never leaves your phone. Vestfolio has no accounts, no login, no analytics, and no server of ours to send anything to. Everything you enter — grants, share counts, vesting schedules, tax settings, notes — is stored only in the app on your device.

What the app stores, and where

Grants, vesting schedules, tax assumptions, and cached share prices are kept in a local database inside the app's private storage on your device. We cannot see this data. There is no cloud copy and no sync. Deleting the app, or using Delete all data in Settings, permanently removes it — including any internal backup snapshots the app created.

The only two things that ever leave your device

• Price lookups. To fetch a live share price or search for a ticker, the app sends what you type in the ticker search field (for example, "AAPL" — or a company name, if that's what you type) to our market data provider, Finnhub. Nothing else is included: no share counts, no values, no grant details, and no identifier we add. Grants marked as private companies make no network requests at all. Like any internet service, the provider can see your IP address.
• Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple and verified through RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and standard App Store receipt data. We never attach your name, email, or anything you typed into the app. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

What we don't do

• No analytics or tracking SDKs. No advertising identifiers.
• No selling, sharing, or monetizing data — we don't have it.
• No tracking across apps or websites, so the app shows no tracking prompt.
• Notifications are scheduled locally on your device and show share counts only — never dollar amounts.

Exports are yours

The CSV export in Settings writes files to your device and hands them to the iOS share sheet. Once you share an export, that copy is under your control, not the app's.

Children

Vestfolio is a financial tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If a future version changes what leaves your device, this policy and the App Store privacy label will be updated first, and the app will say so plainly.
